We are often encouraged to project our emotions onto objects, to imagine machines have personalities, or that we ‘love’ particular consumer items. This calls into question the boundaries of the self, especially online.
The hidden language of html code, and the binary code that is behind it, subliminally affects us, convincing us that we can see people we want to talk to; things we want to buy; information we want to learn.
The language and codes that frame our world can manipulate and persuade us. However, by revealing and changing them, we can change our reality for the better.
