Gary Seven:
The Man, The Mystery, the Myth

We’re all familiar with Gary Seven from the long running British TV series that coloured our childhood games and dreams, but how often do we remember how easy it could have been for the series to have never existed? All it would have taken was for the original Star Trek episode he featured in to have been ignored and how different our lives would have been.
This exhibition helps us to see him in a new light, almost as if this alternate dimension was real, as if some fans had made work about him as if they didn’t know him, as if this was an episode of Gary Seven itself.
Many of the fans have chosen to hark back to the origins of Gary Seven, when he was just a humble character in Star Trek, although there is of course a bitter rivalry between Trekkies and Sevenites!S
ome fans are collecting footage of people conneced with the series and planning to make a documentary in future. Some meditate on the cultural, psychological or spiritual significance of Gary. Others have donated precious memorabilia and props from the show, and there may even be a Gary Seven look alike around if you can spot him!
